BPS Results Show Outstanding Progress in Education

A report on the progress of the Better Public Service (BPS) goals, shows that more than 80% of Pasifika 18 year olds achieved NCEA level 2 in 2016, up from 65.5% in 2011. The participation rate for children attending Early Childhood Education has shown an increase of 2% since 2011.

Education Council Revised Draft Standards Evaluation

The Education Council is congratulated on the consultation it has undertaken on the revised Draft Standards. The vast majority of those who responded on Question 1, whether the standards are fit for purpose across the diverse range and contexts of New Zealand teachers, were positive.

A Focus on Evangelisation

NZCEO has established a relationship with Catholic Youth Ministry Australia as a way of investigating strategies that would engage our secondary students more in the mission of the Church outside of school. Secondary colleges that have an interest in developing this idea in their college should feel free to contact Paul Ferris, CEO, to see if they can participate in a visit to Canberra later in the year.
